Friday 27 April 2007

she came 6th.....

I'm sooooo very proud of my beautiful girl today. not that i'm not proud of her everyday, just especially proud today.
Shanice has been finding it very difficult to cope and understand why Grandad is so sick and has been very clingy to me and extremely emotionally lately.
well today was her cross country. our school doesn't get the parents as involved with it as much as the althelics or swimming carnivals but i thought to show support to shanice i'd pop along at her time to race. she was a bit nervous, but i thought she would do quite well as she rans well. she's never been to little athletics or anything, but you know when you can just get a vibe from a child.
all she wanted to do was beat the other girls in her year that she doesn't like and that pick on her, lol, god love her.
well she did, and she came in better than what i ever thought she would.
SHE CAME 6TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had to take a few pics to take up and show mum and dad, so i'll share them now incase they read this before we go up on the weekend.
we are back to swimming leasons for both shanice and connor this afternoon which should be fun. it's been quite a sporting day here for the sheppard-morris kids.

look!

you could say i was feeling slightly bored tonight......
went searching for a new blog templete as i'm so not clever enough to do one myself. i can't even do a picture banner! so on my seach i found this cute little site that had some really yummy designs, i'd seen one before one the Scrapping the Scraps blog.
so all by myself (i'm so not computer literate) i read the instructions and uploaded a new templete. I've played a bit with it and added my links and stuff. tried adding my email address to the banner, but that didn;t work so I've left a few blank links (sorry!!!) for later on. After a frustrating 30 minutes on flickr i got my doo dah ready and now i don't think my pics are working, so I'll play with that some more - LATER!
as you can probably guess i'm rather chuffed with my accomplishment! hubby was even more impressed that i knew what i was doing when adding links (he was in i.t. before getting married)

so now i'm thinking i should probably drag my butt off to bed. Ant's off to play golf tomorrow and i'm taking the kids up to mum and dads for brunch.

Monday 23 April 2007

it's quiet here today........

I'm feeling a little bit lost today......
the kids started back at school this morning and i went in and read with Connor's year 1. Connor isn't in my reading because my special little bloke is in the highest reading group and gets taken to the other class room to read with a few of the other kids...... nothing like a very proud mum, lol!!! just what i needed reading with year 1 and it doesn't matter what group i read with their is always 1 child in the group that gets under my skin and drives me nuts.
shanice was a little apprehensive about going back to school. she was in tears last night saying she didn't want to go as the boy she sits next too is naughty and picks on her all the time. i don;t blame her either, so a note will be sent to her teacher tomorrow to get her moved.
she's also been really super clingy lately which is so not her. and asking so many questions about dad and why he's so sick. she knows more than what we're telling her i know that. i don't know if it's because she's overheard me telling someone or if she's just picked up on it herself, so she's needing a little bit of extra special attention lately.

i've been catching up on my Scrap Girls stuff today. can't believe it's only 10 more sleeps until the retreat. the kits are all over my dining room table, most are fully packed and a few a re just waiting for last minute things to arrive.

So if you're at a loose end on the weekend of the 4th-6th May 2007 and would love to come away scrapping with us there is still plenty of room. Alison Shearer will be there all weekend and will be teaching a gorgeous class that i can't wait to personally make myself. Miss Sheree has created a fantastic altered clock, Heidi style. I've come up with a few lil classes to keep us busy.
Tamara is bringing her Stampin Up goodies for us to play with and make a Mothers Day card. and we are planning other make and takes..... plenty to keep us busy.
If you want more information email me at scrapgirls@optusnet.com.au
trust me, you'll have a blast and get heaps of scrapping done..... well maybe, lol

well, it's that time of day again. 6 hours of school time just goes by so quickly.

Sunday 22 April 2007

no more scallops

I have just been looking thru my 2007 and late 2006 layouts and i can see a distinct pattern emerging........... SCALLOPED EDGES. I kind you not on every single page, and if it's not scalloped it's a wavy edge.
i think i'm going to have to change that in my next few layouts.

speaking of which....... i had a great time on friday night. I went to Sue's for a late night scrap. i got 1 page completely finished and finished another i started a few days before. purchased myself yet another 7 gypsies stamp (this makes no.6) and some gorgeous new Junkitz salsa celebration pp which i've been waiting for and i couldn't resist the new Junkitz extreme boy papers, connor loves them and thinks he can use them - NO!!!!!

before i went out scrapping for the night, Trac came up for a visit. it was great to sit around and chat cause we couldn't get to do much of that at the twins birthday party.
we took some photos out the back of the 4 kids, but it is impossible to get them all looking at once, lol.
we had a busy day on saturday with birthday parties and sleepovers and then having kids come home from sleepovers as they both got home sick. it is far too cute and i'm never going to knock my kids for being homesick EVER, im so pleased that they love me that much!
and today i was working :( boring!!!!!!!
tomorrow brings back some normality back to the crazy sheppard-morris house as school goes back. which will be great for us all as i'm in need of some quiet and the kids are missing their school friends and teachers, which is too sweet.
so that's me, off to pack school lunches and get winter uniforms out ready for the morning rush. god! i hope their uniforms still fit them............

Monday 16 April 2007

whirlwind weekend

i think this weekend has past me by in a blur.......
friday day the kids and i hung out at home. the house looked like a bomb had gone off cause the timber had arrived to build the shelves and they were stacked everywhere in the house. we had christopher here so that kept the kids occupied. after lunch sheree and kaitlyn came over for a visit and i could resist snapping pictures of connor and kaitlyn with there missing teeth and of course we couldn't leave out shanice

friday night sheree and i went a Stampin Up party at Belinda's. i said to myself i have NO money so don;t buy anything, but there was a set of stamps there just screaming at me "BUY ME"!!!!! they are gorgeous and i reckon that the stamper in me will come out with these stamp, lol. who am i kidding, i know damn well they will sit in the box and never be used, but i will give it a go.
saturday brought on the start of the mammoth exercise of building floor to ceiling 600mm wide shelving unit to go the length of the playroom (double garage width). Ant reckoned it would all be up in a day and i said no way, i was right ha! the frame work was all put together and in place and all that needed to down sunday was secure it to the wall and put the mdf sheets down on the shelves - too easy.
it has just occurred to me that i haven't taken any pictures of the monstrosity, so that is on my to do list for tomorrow.
Sunday was Alastair and Felicity's 7th birthday party. What a great day. that kids all had fun playing and running around like mad children in Tracy's massive yard and i get to relax cause the kids don't want me for a few hours. We stayed after the party and had dinner and watch fliss and alastair open all their presents which was really lovely.

i'm hoping to catch up again this week with trac as with all the kids chaos you really don't get a chance to have a sit and a chat.
on the scrapping front, i've been busy creating lo's for my May DT technique for scraploot. cant reveal anything right now cause it's not may yet!!!!!! but i've been loving what i'm doing and hopfully when i can find some more of my scrapping stuff under this mess in the playroom i can get some more finished. So keep you eyes peeled for my mat dt technique.

have some news on the scrapping front, but more on that tomorrow.
the kids have gone over to Aunty Tricia's for a sleepover tonight with their cousins so it is awfully quiet in my household atm. Anthony did take me out for dinner which was lovely and something we dont do very often.

those easter pics....

these are just a few of my favs.
i've got heaps more to waffle on about so i just might come back later today and update, but for now the washing needs to be hung out, washing up and drying up need to be done, dusting and all sorts of things need to be tidied up

Sunday 8 April 2007

happy, happy EASTER

hope the easter bunny brought lots of love and chocolate to you all
Saturday morning me and kids had to write a special little note to the Easter Bunny to he could find us at Nan and Grandads :) It was too cute. we left them in the middle of the lougne room.
The kids and i headed off to Pancakes on the Rocks at Northmead for breakfast with the girls, which is always fun. we normally don't take the kids, but because i was on my way up to my parents for easter it was just easier to take them rather than after breakfast which normally finishes at lunch time, i'd have to go back home to get them.
good news on the breakfast front:
* Skye is engaged
* Amber's bub is due on the 17th August
* Dal brought Abby (2 and a half months) who is just a perfect lil baby
* Emma's house plans are getting there - poor emma
* Tanya has house guests
* that leaves me and i'm still the same, lol

After a scrummy pancake breakie we headed up to mum and dads for the night. we were actually staying at my sister's around the corner, just in case the kids get too noisy for dad, and lets face it they are super noisy.
dad was pretty good considering. he had his perky moments and we could have a little joke which was good. the kids gave him extra big cuddles which makes me want to cry everytime.

i'm pretty sure shanice and mandy got up about 6am this morning, i could hear them chatting away to toffee (the cat) in the lounge room. connor rose about 40minutes after. and me - well i got up when they all left and had a shower and headed round to mum and dads. i got there at 7.58am which is a miracle, me up before 8am, lol.
the kids thought it was wonderful having so many easter chocolates from the easter bunny and then a huge cooked breakie and a special easter egg hunt. mandy and ben were in charge of the hunt, which made for some interestingly hidden eggs, for example hung from a rope, in windchimes, in the lattice, trees, windmills ect. i raced around like a mad woman taking photos of the hiding places.

blogger is having issues atm, so i will upload some pics tomorrow.

connor has now decided he liked staying at aunty nays and uncle bens he invited himself to stay again tonight. shanice came home with anothong and i and we've watched some really old but goodies girlie movies. well it's great weather for dvd's. i've been informed that connor has spent the afternoon with uncle ben building a model helicopter of his own, and i can't wait to see it tomorrow.

you tube

last night while i was searching for a clip of good charlotte, i got a bit side tracked on you tube. normally i can't stand the site, and only go searching for music clips and the family guy, i think the stuff idiots put on there is just rediculous and people actually watch it which seems too bizzar for me! maybe it's just me, lol.
but anyway, i remembered this email my mum and dad sent me with a link to the clip on there. it is hillarious and so very clever. i've watched it now at least 10 times and i'm in stitches every single time. i think it just reminds of YES that is exactly how i used to dance to those songs and i used to think i was too cool.

while i was searching for the evolution of dance i found this one below and couldn't resist watching it and i'm so glad i did cause it too is very funny and clever.

Thursday 5 April 2007

i was just doing a bit of a looksee around on the Scrapbooking Top 50 Blog listings, and i came across Sonia's Blog. She had this cool little list on hers that i just had to pinch.

“It’s been said that allegedly if you’ve seen over 85 movies you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, go to your own blog, paste it in and put x’s by the ones that you have seen. Add them up, change the header adding your number, and post it.”

Oh and because of my vast knowledge of movies , lol, i adjusted a couple of the titles to the Australian names.

Was it me or where the majority of the movies listed above horror movies? i hate horror movies!

pure madness....

WHAT was i thinking???????????
Shanice and i just arrived home this afternoon from a crazy weekend. We had a guide camp. i said after the one we organized last year - never again, and yet i did, lol.
it was a lot smoother this year and the girls didn't seem to drive me as crazy, i think i'm just used to them all now after being their leader for 2 years.
we had a few interesting monents like the snake this morning that totally freaked poor Paris out, and the indoor campfire roasting marshmallows over tealights.
it was an awful lot of preparation, but it was worth it cause every single girl said they had a great time and that's what it's all about.

i did get a phone call early this morning from ny boys, they went and spent the weekend down the farm. connor's second tooth came out. he was so excited that the tooth fairy was coming again so quickly. he's only just taken the $2 out of the tooth box that she left last visit.
he's so proud of his toothless grin. and in typical sheppard-morris fashion, school photos are the second week back next term, so i doubt he'll have his big teeth come all the way through by them.
